The crew came out again and removed the frame and then could tell that the wall was crooked so they adjusted the frame install to accommodate the wall so the shutter will sit in the frame straight. Another sweet woman named Jessica called to schedule the installation but I was not in town. When we finally had them come back, her installation team (both named Eric) was professional, kind and completed the job lightning fast. They even wore booties which is a plus because we don't get a lot of that in LA. I met a talented videographer who came by to film for her YouTube channel and it was entertaining to watch them crank out the video so effortlessly. Jessica is a natural at what she does! After the installers left, she checked the shades to make sure everything was done right and even mentioned it didn't feel good at first. She assured me to call her if any adjustments were needed. I haven't noticed any issues and I really appreciate her honesty and transparency. The only minor improvement I'd suggest is better time confirmation. I had to follow up with her colleague to confirm when they were coming and I didn't get an exact time. With a tight schedule and meetings to manage, having the timing set in advance would have been appreciated. The installer installed the windows in the garage and they were installed to high to clear the garage door arm. He did not say any thing about the situation before leaving the home. Only found the problem after trying to open the shutters to clean the window. The owner responded, Ok... we cannot move the window nor the door track. Cutting the frame will void your warranty and possibly have negative impact on integrity of frame holding the weight of the shutter panel. But if you prefer that risk, and installer agrees we can cut it after looking at it then you are welcome to have them do it. You can pay them directly for the work which should be around $60 Thank you. A terrible response from the company and very poor customer service in offering to correct the installation. Jessica showed up and was friendly, professional and efficient. She knew what she was doing and had good info and guidance. We had one window that was still under construction and it was problematic in that it was hard to measure in its unfinished condition. But it didn't phase Jessica, she took the measurements and asked me to get some info from the construction crew the next day. I got back to her with the info she needed and she ordered the shutters without the window even being installed. It made us nervous a bit, but in the end, the window was installed, the shutters arrived and everything fit perfectly. It was a situation that could have potentially gone sideways, but didn't. Again, Jessica knew what she was doing. Communication was great. I was able to text Jessica throughout the process and she always answered back with good info and in a timely manner. We ordered shutters and motorized roller blinds. We're happy with both. I love the motorized rollers in our master and we also have a pair of rollers that are *not* motorized. Those are great too. We like the look and they measured up to the look we saw in the swatch. No disappointments. Another huge deal - Jessica's price was almost half of what the other company was going to charge us. It's been months since our shutters and blinds were installed but I promised Jessica that I would write a review since they did a stellar job. This woman is an absolute go-getter, and I would recommend her for your future projects. I want to point out that there are reviews regarding communication and timely completion of projects. Jessica and I established a "texting" relationship early on, and she was always prompt to answer all questions. I had quite a few regarding warranty. As for project completion time, it was delayed due to manufacturing delays. I want to emphasize that this is NOT at the fault of the shutter company as Jessica cannot control how quickly manufacturers produce and send products. Moving forward, when it came to installation day, they knocked out taking down my old blinds and installing shutters throughout my 3000+ sq ft home in just a few hours. Jessica personally came out and did an in-home consultation and was very professional, friendly, and quite affable. She allowed me to take a few days to a week to make my final decision without hurrying or pestering me for an answer. Although there was a little hold up on our order of blinds (which I am going to assume is due to covid..), in addition, one of the wands were broken upon delivery (which was due to shipping); Jessica was very communicative and would take the time to follow up on orders or delays, and relay such information to you. The wand is also being replaced, of course at no cost at all. She even gave me a little gift card for the inconvenience the delayed order and broken wand may have caused. The whole process was very pleasant -- from the consultation all the way to installation; even her installers were a pleasant to work with. Very friendly and respectful guys! I'm a new first-time homeowner, and to be honest, I really had no idea what I was doing. He was prompt and on-time. Very friendly with a blunt sense of humor. I say this, because it will come in later towards the end of the review. I wanted these smaller wooden slats, because that's all I kinda knew growing up, but Brent took one look at our space and listened to what my wants were - I wanted a "modern and open" feel. He informed me that I could go with the smaller/narrower panels, but to achieve that "modern and open" look I should go with the larger/wider pieces. Brent also helped me select a color. I had no idea what to do. He said you should match them with the baseboard color so that it will pop out from your walls. Excellent call Brent, because I cannot get over how beautiful these look. From start to finish Brent has been excellent with communicating a timeline, certain expectations, and the outcome/reality. I appreciated his honesty and directness. I can see he clearly loves his job. We spent some time going over a binder and he gave me a thorough breakdown and history of the shutters. I love seeing passion in other people. INSTALLATION The installation team was on time, efficient, respectful of COVID guidelines and our home, and friendly. Installation was flawless. I did not catch their names, but I was speechless at how beautiful these shutters were. I asked if I could watch them install it, and the gentleman was very nice. He talked with me and we laughed about stuff as he put up the shutters and explained to me the use and care of the shutters. They cleaned up after themselves and were relatively quick. CORRESPONDENCE/SERVICE Communication is very important to me. It's how I select businesses that I like to work with. Communication allows you to see how a business values you and your time, whether they are organized, or consistent. Every single appointment and estimated timeframe were always met spot on. You know what exactly to expect. They set 9:30 AM for the initial appointment, Brent got here at 9:15 AM. Jessica said the installation team will be here at 9 AM - 10 AM, there were here at 9:30 AM. They said 6-8 weeks out for installation, and that's how long it took. I was not in a hurry. Overall, I love their customer service. They either pick up immediately when you call or get back to you within a business day, at least, that's how it was for me in my experience. Jessica, Brent, and her installation team were phenomenal, and that's putting it lightly. I had the pleasure of reaching out to a fellow yelper prior to selecting them, and she spoke highly of them. I believe in supporting local businesses, and Jessica, you'll have mines forever moving forward. PERSONAL OPINION One thing I want to address, are the comments regarding Brent from a review on here, down in the thread. Originally I did not want to say anything, but I strongly feel the need to advocate on his behalf. I'm Asian, we also have the "no shoes in the house" rule. But to me, people are more important than a thing that we do just to not dirty up or scratch a home. Not that I don't respect, value, or love my home. I worked for years to save every penny and cried after 6 offers just to get our house. So I know more than anything, the struggles and meaning of taking care of a home. I just didn't think it's worth prioritizing over someone who has a disability. Another thing is that these same comments said Brent was rude, and that he harassed them. Seeing this broke my heart, because Brent was so sweet. Again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, which is why I think it's so important that we take these reviews with a grain of salt, even mine. It comes down to personality, boundaries, and beliefs. I grew up in a household where we were blunt with each other, so I wasn't as sensitive to things Brent said that may have seem "rude". To be honest, I thought Brent was really funny. What might seem rude to one person, could be a sense of humor to another. Also, working in the service industry, people are pretty brutal on Yelp. How else do you defend yourself when people are attacking you online? To me, after seeing that picture of the text message, it looked like Brent was pridefully defending himself. Props to you Brent. They were extremely respectful of my home and absolutely loved my dog, which made me really happy :) When he finished installing he brought me over to look at the shutter in my kitchen, which had been slightly damaged during shipping and made worse by the install. To be honest I would not have noticed the damage for quite some time, but he made it a point to show me and contact Jessica then and there to order a replacement. I was blown away by how honest and upfront he was about it. The replacement came quickly and Omar came back out with his sons to install, which only took minutes. Also, my dog was SO EXCITED to see them again that I wish I could hire his sons to dog-sit :) A few weeks later Jessica sent us a Starbucks gift card thanking us for our business and apologizing for the damaged shutter. I just realized I haven't even talked about the shutters themselves. They are beautiful, very high quality and easy to use. They've completely changed the look of our house and we've gotten a ton of compliments. We were in the market for shutters for our windows in our new home. A friend recommended Blinds of Sacramento and we are glad they did. We had a Hunter Douglas rep come out and gave us a bid (discounted) and they were in consideration. We then had Blinds of Sacramento come out. Jessica was our rep. She was professional and knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Their product is Norman. Hunter Douglas shutters have a bar down the middle of the shutters to open and close them. They have an option of a hidden bar but a bar is still there. Norman shutters have an option of no bar and the shutters operate with a geared mechanism built into the frame. This is a great option if you don't like the bar look. Also, the Norman material has a better look and feel than Hunter Douglas. AND, the price was about 35% less than Hunter Douglas. We feel the Norman materials and quality are superior to the other products out there. Jessica put in our order immediately and the shutters arrived when she promised they would, about six weeks. Omar does the installs for this company. He was professional, quick and neat. The measurements and fit came out perfect. We ordered the split shutters and one panel arrived that wasn't. Jessica immediately ordered a replacement and it was taken care of in a very timely fashion. We later noticed one panel frame corner seemed damaged. Jessica had us send her a photo and has ordered a replacement for this panel. The warranty for this product is very good. We are very happy with our shutters, they look fantastic and Blinds of Sacramento has been a great company to work with! Less

Without me knowing much about the blinds I could tell how poorly there were installed and some of them didn't work at all. I called Blinds of Sacramento and Jessica came down to give me quote. She inspected all the blinds and further pointed out how one blind in one window is different from other and poor quality of installation of the old blinds. She measured all the windows, provided different choices of blinds I could choose and finally gave me an affordable quote based on the type of blinds I wanted to install. I can't prove it, but I'm convinced the $963 cost raised the value of my house by at least $10,000.The only thing I wish was different would be a removable or semi-movable frame. My windows and screens remove from the inside but are now blocked by the shutter frame. I was still able to clean the outside pane of the window with a spatula, paper towels and windex but it was a little awkward. I'm not sure if I'll have a problem is I ever get a broken window.Anyway, overall: great! Less

And there were a few. We didn't feel the least bit rushed during the process. In fact, we felt that we kept her too long. Originally we looked into "top down bottom up" shades thinking plantation shutters were too norm for a new home. Boy were we wrong! We ended up ordering "Norman" composite 3.5 in shutters for our entire home minus the patio slider. The price was super reasonable. The products are custom manufactured in China and shipped in appx 3-4 weeks. Ours was through the Christmas & New Year holiday, therefore a little longer. The shutters are very high quality and we feel that it's even better than the wood version. We also looked into Hunter Douglas' composite products which Jessica carries as well. But the quality just wasn't there :-( The only hitch was a bathroom unit that came in the wrong size. The friendly and knowledgeable installers (young hard working guys) caught this and Jessica reordered the shutter. This one took a little longer to arrive. We felt this could have been expedited due the error, but at the end, all was well...perfect fit for the entire home. In closing, I highly recommend Jessica and Blinds of Sacramento for your window coverings. We just bought a brand new house and needed to buy something for the windows. Jessica walked us through the process and showed us our options regarding the shutters we wanted (style, thickness of the blades etc.).
